The CAS posted the syllabus last week.
In the Other/Info-> Study Tools section, you can find a recommended study schedule, and a summary of the syllabus, as well as a list of past problems.
That section also has a change document comparing the 2016 syllabus to the 2017 syllabus.
As of today, all of Section A has been updated, except for the Shapland paper.
Updates include adding the 2016 problems, and changes to the material based on feedback from last year. This year we’ve also added a few problems worked out on video for each paper.
I’ll be working on finishing section A, and updating section B and C over the month of December, and expect to have it up by January 1.

I see some of you have signed up for this year’s course. Here’s a few notes on what’s going on.
There don’t appear to be any significant changes on deck for the syllabus this year, or changes to weights. Here are the two main ones:
- Shapland paper replacing the Shapland/Leong paper
- Goldfarb - the Options section will be on the syllabus this year. It’s always been odd, because the reading was assigned, but no learning objectives covered the material in Chapter 7 - Options. I’ve been told it’s on the knowledge statements this year.
Everything on the site right now is the same as it was from the 2016 sitting.
I’m currently working on updating material, based on comments from students last year, the 2016 exam, also the 2011 exam (the sample solutions are not very good).
Some papers are being redone. The Mack (1994) Manual was redone.
I’ll start uploading new material around December 1, and expect to have the manuals and videos completed by year end, with some of the review material completed in January.
Once the CAS posts the new syllabus, and exam date, I’ll post a study schedule.
