Welcome to 2016 CAS Exam 7 Review
Hello Everyone!
Major changes to the weightings in the syllabus this year. When this exam was first offered in 2011, the three parts of the syllabus (A,B,C) had weights of 45/6/50. After three years, in 2014, this was changed to 50/10/40. This year (2016), it is now 70/10/20. This is a large increase in weight to section A; and Section C is cut in half in weight.
Regarding the readings, we have:
A - Addition of the Glen Meyers Paper - a technical paper
B - no change
C - removal of 5 papers, and addition of 4 chapters from the Brehm text
This is still a very technical exam.
Schedule
Section A:
I’m currently reviewing the lessons for any improvements. I’m about halfway through section A, and I’ll publish those new lessons this week. These are incremental improvements.
The full Section A syllabus will be ready on January 4th. In the mean time, you can use the current videos, since little is changing.
Section B: No change to syllabus, no change to material expected.
Section C: The updates will be ready January 20th.
If you have questions, please let me know. I’m available on the forum, and via email.

Hi Alejandro. Do you have an intro-type video that you’re planning on creating that will explain the structure of your course? I think it might be helpful to hear your explanation of the books, review notes and how they differ from the manual, etc. Thanks!
This is a good idea. I’ll prepare one this week.
