Hi everyone,
I corrected a typo in the solution for the 2002 Q35 problem in the NCCI 3 problem set. I had shown 50,250 instead of 50,520 for parts a and c. This changed the answer for part c as well.
Also, as an update, I’ve decided to combine the Teng, Fisher, and Gillam & Snader 3 papers to again help reduce confusion. I’ve got the individual problem sets done already, so the combined material won’t take more than a week or so. That will be the last of section B!

Hi everyone,
I just posted a minor correction to the solution for Miccolis question 2011 Q10. Apparently when I was fixing the inequalities, I had by mistake put one of them as less than equal, when it should have been greater than equal. The remainder of the problem and the solution were not impacted.

An update on the status of the material:
– A few days ago I posted the NCCI 3 problems, which was the last set of questions related to the retro rating papers.
– Today I posted the NCCI 2 problems, which was the last set of questions related to the WC experience rating papers.
– Today I also posted a minor correction to a Skurnick past problem that I had copied incorrectly from the 2004 exam. I updated the problem set and errata file.
– I’m currently working on the ISO paper, and that should be up in a few days.

I updated the solution to 2006 Question 2 part a from the Bailey & Simon problem set. A strict reading of the question means that the solution should have been for exactly 1, 2, and 3 years claims-free, whereas I had previously been showing (and the CAS also accepted) 1+, 2+, and 3 years claims-free. I’ve updated the problem set, the combined study manual and problems, and the errata file.
Update: I took a second look, and realized that the model solution from the CAS that showed the calculations for exactly 1, 2, and 3 years was incorrect. As such, I re-worded the original question and posted a solution that matches the updated wording.

I just uploaded the Skurnick problems and problem strategy video. I also made a correction to something I said in the Mahler 2 problems video. I had said the coefficient of variation was the mean divided by the standard deviation, but it is the standard deviation divided by the mean. I posted a corrected video and updated the errata spreadsheet.

I wanted to give an update on the material creation:
– I uploaded the Gillam problems and problem video a few days ago, and I uploaded the same for Brosius today.
– I have the Skurnick problems done but just need to record the problem video and upload, so that should be available tomorrow morning.
– I’m going to update the NCCI 2, 3, and ISO past exam problems to use the latest versions of those manuals. I ordered the new study kit a few days ago, so once that arrives I’ll be able to complete and post those problem sets.
– A few people have asked about notecards in the jpg format. I’m working on this, and they should be available for all papers posted thus far within the next few days.

I just posted corrections to the solutions for 2011 Q10 part a and 2010 Q17 part b solutions from the problem set of the Miccolis paper. The issue was that the inequalities should have been “less than equal to” and “greater than equal to” instead of “less than” and “greater than”.
