Problems with new lessons

March 29th, 2010

I see that some of the new files aren’t showing up properly, and are giving error messages when you try to download. I will be reuploading those files this evening.

Sorry about the inconvenience.

UPDATE: I’ve re-uploaded the relevant files. Please let me know if you find any other files that are not downloading properly.

New readings

March 28th, 2010

New videos are up in Section 2 [2.26a CSFB Credit Portfolio Modelling Handbook] and Section 3 [3.36 FE-C174-10: Deciphering the Liquidity and Credit Crunch 2007-2008].

Make sure you get the file downloads with these. With 2.26a, there is a spreadsheet that goes along with the lecture, so you can see how the calculations from the reading are done. Lesson 3.36 has just a PDF file of the accompanying notes].

There will be lots more being added this week, in the review section. If you haven’t checked it out already, the review section is within the Online Seminar section, and is labeled “AFE Spring 2010 Review”. Currently there is a condensed outline for all the sections, and review cards in PDF. There will be more videos and PDFs coming up, on the case study and actual exam problems and strategy in answering these.

AFE Review Cards added

March 17th, 2010

In the review section for the course, I’ve added 5 PDF files that have review cards for the course. These are very quick questions, intended either to elicit a definition, or list, or quick calculation problem. These questions are linked to a single reading [which is noted on the bottom of the card].

The format of the cards are such that they’re meant for an Avery 5388 template. More on this Avery template/product can be seen here: Avery 5388 Index Cards. The odd-numbered pages have the questions/front of the cards, and the even-numbered pages have the answers/back of the cards.
