Old man winter

Due to the winter weather “apocalypse” and the school closings that resulted in the southeast where I live, my family responsibilities during the day increased quite a bit this week. As a result, the final LFV-U video lessons covering LFV-132 and LFV-817 will be delayed until early next week. I expect them to be posted no later than Tuesday, February 4.

Thank you for your patience as I wrap up these video lessons. I think you’ll be happy with the final product, which will blend and simplify  key concepts from the FASB ED material in these dense readings.

Let’s all hope for an early spring!

Video updates

Brand new videos for the following lessons were posted in the last week:

  • A.2.14 LFV-803: NAIC Standard Valuation Law
  • C.1.7 LFV-131: Economic Capital Overview

Videos covering the FASB ED material (LFV-817 and LFV-132) will be posted later this week.

Stay warm out there. This winter has given us some of the best stay-inside-and-study weather we’ve seen in decades!

LFV-U study manual now complete for spring 2014

All new and updated syllabus readings have been added to the detailed study manual included with the LFV-U online seminar. See the Revision History file in the Study Manual section of the seminar for details on what was added.

Video lessons for these 4 readings will be added to the online seminar by the end of January.

LFV-U study guide update

Hi guys, and happy new year! The remaining LFV-U study guide updates will loaded to the online seminar by Friday, 1/17/2014. The new material will be inserted into the existing study manual PDFs in a way that does not alter the page numbering for the other sections. So if you’ve already printed anything, you will be able to simply insert the new material into your existing print stack.

The new study manual sections have a different format and layout than the existing study manual. I would appreciate any feedback you have on this new style once it’s ready.
