The IASB recently renumbered IFRS 4 to IFRS 17 with no further changes being made to the wording of the standard. As this change occurred too late in the exam building process for it to have been appropriately reflected within the study material, any examination question(s) referencing this standard will continue to refer to it as IFRS 4.
We don’t plan to update theĀ online seminar for the new IFRS name because all of the source readings refer to it as IFRS 4 (a.k.a. “the new standard for insurance contracts,” a.k.a. “IFRS 4 Phase II”). For purposes of the exam, I would essentially forget about the IFRS 17 title entirely and just pretend it’s still called IFRS 4.
At this point, you don’t need any new standard titles to juggle in your memory. š
