All outlines are in place [Canadian]

All of the lesson outlines are now posted on the Canadian seminar under each Handouts subsection. I combined all handouts into a single PDF file per section so that printing is more efficient.  Each file also as a table of contents on the first page. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Potential Study Schedule

It’s hard to believe the live seminar is just a little over 12 weeks away!  I’ve put together a study schedule that allows you to get through the entire syllabus (and the online seminar) prior to the live seminar.  The schedule shown below corresponds to the sections that are in the online seminar.  Just click on the link below for the details

If you haven’t started studying yet, the 12-week schedule is pretty aggressive, so please feel free to go at your own pace.  You’ll still have some good time to go over the final sections after the live seminar.

2010 Study Schedule

All Lessons updated for 2010

The entire online seminar is now updated for 2010.  All of the new lessons have been added and the old lessons have been removed.  The handouts for each section have also been updated.

Please let me know if you find anything that isn’t working correctly.

Good luck with your studies!

Section B Updated for 2010

At this point all of the new videos for 2010 have been uploaded.  There may be a few minor tweaks, but I don’t anticipate any significant changes.

I am now working on updating the handouts for each section to reflect the revised syllabus.  Tonight (June 3), I updated Section B with the new outline and notes.  The remaining updates should be coming soon.

Please let me know if you see anything that looks incorrect or if you have any questions.

Thanks.

Jeremy

Progress update [Canadian]

As I mentioned earlier, I am re-recording all of my prior lessons in a new widescreen format (with better audio too). I am also creating lessons for some new material added in 2010.  Once all material is updated, I plan to do one update to the seminar online.

You can expect the following changes to be made in the coming weeks. . .

Updated lessons

  • All existing CTLI chapters that are still on the syllabus
  • Lapse Experience
  • Dividend Determination
  • Critical Illness Product Design
  • Pricing Critical Illness Insurance in Canada
  • Any other lessons that Jeremy and Anita update that are also on the Canadian syllabus will be updated on the Canadian seminar site

New lessons for 2010

  • D615-10: PD-15 Combo Product
  • D616-10: PD-19 Life Hot Topics
  • D617-10: PD-29 Individual Product Structures: Product Development & Innovation
  • Any other new lessons that Jeremy and Anita add that are also on the Canadian syllabus will be added to the Canadian seminar site

Dropped lessons (removed from syllabus after 2009)

  • Challenge of Simplified Issue
  • Developments in the Canadian Segregated Funds Marketplace
  • Preferred Term Update
  • Preferred Underwriting Discussion
  • Dynamic Policyholder Behavior in Pricing of VA’s
  • Managing Variable Policyholder Behavior Risk
  • Valuation of Living and DB guarantees for VA’s
  • Pitfalls in Indexed Products
  • Variable Annuity Risk

If you have any questions or concerns about any of this, please contact me.  Thanks!

Section E Updated for 2010

Hopefully your studying is off to a great start and that you’re able to get a good start on the syllabus.

I have been worked hard the last several weeks to get the updated material for 2010 ready to go.  I’ve now recorded online sessions for all of the new material for 2010, and I am in the process of loading the files onto the TIA website.

Tonight (June 1), I finished all of the updates to Section E (Marketing).  This includes new videos for all of the lessons of Section E, except for section E.2.2 on Compensation.  Section E.2.2 was unchanged from the old lesson, so the video is the same as the “old” version.  All of the other old sessions have been deleted.

In addition to new recordings, I have also updated the Outline and Notes found in Section 0.

Please let me know if you find anything that isn’t working correctly.  Thanks!
