Today I added another version of the flash card PDF where each flash card’s front and back side is shown (1 side per page) in succession. This format is a little friendlier to tablet and phone displays.
This new format is now in same download file as the original format. Both flash card PDFs have the same content on each card. Only the format is different.
There’s a good recent discussion in the course forum that may help you relate these 3 very similar concepts together on the syllabus. As always, it’s good to identify as many similar concepts as possible during this phase of studying. Doing so will greatly reduce the amount of rote memorization you have to do later.
Just a reminder that fall 2014 exam registration is now open on the SOA’s site. The registration deadline is September 24, 2014, which is still a ways off, but don’t get so caught up in studying that you forget!
The condensed outline and flash cards are now fully updated to reflect the fall 2014 syllabus. You can find these items in the Supplementary Materials section of the online seminar.
As I explain in the introduction section of the online seminar, I recommend using these condensed review materials in the final 1–2 months before the exam. There is more information on using each item included in their respective download files.
Because you can never have enough drill problems, right? Section A now has a 3rd set of drill problems, which contain some additional problems for EIAs and EIUL.
We also updated 6 video lessons in Section A with the newer video format we’re rolling out:
The new videos and handouts replace the pre-existing ones. The new videos generally contain more visuals and practice problems than the older versions.
We update and refine the seminar on a year-round basis but want to minimize any disruption video updates may cause to your studying. If for any reason you want to look at something in one of the older videos, we can make these available on a case by case basis by request.
