Hello LFV-C students,
The LICAT study note that I used to create the DSM and online videos was given to me by the SOA prior to them sending the study notes to print (TIA requests early access to the syllabus and material in order to get a head start on creating content). Unfortunately, they gave me the incorrect (older) version of the study note and didn’t realize. I noticed because it was brought to my attention by a student. As a result, I’ll be taking the LICAT videos offline temporarily while I straighten this out. I’ll also be integrating the review questions and examples that I was working on during this process.
What does this mean for you?
If you haven’t reached Section C of the online seminar yet (which I assume most of you haven’t), then you can carry on with your studying schedule as is and hopefully the videos will be updated by the time you get to there. However, since I will be updating the DSM and handouts, this means you’ll have to reprint them (so sorry!).
I’m quite frustrated by this oversight from the SOA, but the silver lining is that it was caught early on in the sitting (thank you to the student who brought it to my attention). Thank you all for your understanding and know that I’ll be working tirelessly to get the material updated in a timely manner.
