I have posted the first sample exam. Please watch the Sample Exam Strategy video first. Personally, I think this is too early to working sample exams.
Unfortunately I did not finish recording section J before I left to teach the live seminar. It will only take me one day to finish the recordings when I get home. I will post the lessons for J on Monday, March 12th. I apologize for the delay.
If you have finished all of the other lessons, then you are in great shape. Normally my suggested study schedule would have you finishing all the material around March 23rd. This sitting I moved that date up only because we were holding the live seminar earlier.
If you have watched all the lessons and worked all the problems already posted, then start on the SOA 300 sample problems (Questions and Solutions). Any SOA sample problems from Section J will be towards the end of the problem set. So start at the beginning of the problem set and I will have section J posted long before you reach the questions from section J.
I received the following question:
The Excel schedule provided by my spring 2012 MLC online seminar mentions that I should start the “TIA Course Problem Set” a day after I finish the seminar material. Where is this problem set located, or when will it be available?
Here is my response:
I will put it together after I finish all the lessons. This problem set will randomly mix up problems from the entire course. So you don’t want to start it until you have covered all the material.
I received the following question from a student:
I am looking on a little clarification on what you recomend as a study strategy. Do you recomend that we go through the videos (while working the exercises) and complete the chapter problems till the last month and a half? Or do you suggest we work these problems after each chapter? If the second is true, are these the same questions you recomend working on the last month and a half?
Here is my response:
Sorry for the confusion. You definitely want to work the problems at the end of each section (B1, B2, etc) after you watch the videos for each section. At the end of the course I will post another problem set (very large) for the last 1.5 months. It will contain all the SOA sample problems plus many more.
I made a minor change to lesson B.2.1 (shown below) and the notes for section B.2. If you have already watched the lesson you do not need to re-watch it.
I accidentally put the wrong solutions in the C1 Problem Set zip file. I have uploaded the correct file now.
