I updated various sections of the seminar to eliminate the 2011 “revision marks” on the overheads. In addition, I have updated the discussions for the following pages:
- A. Introduction – pages 1 and 11
- N. IRC 404(o) – deductible limits – pages 19 and 20
- P. IRC 415 – Maximum benefit limitations – pages 1, 2, 11, 40, 43, 44 and 46
- Q. IRC 416 – Top heavy plans – page 6
Updates
Unlike prior years, I decided to go totally electronic for this year’s seminar. I will upload a ZIP file of last year’s CD right away.
Everything is contained in PDF files, and I have made it easy for you to print all the materials. I consolidated the PDFs into three HUGE files. You’ll need to buy a BIG binder. This year’s stack of paper clocks in at about 2,600 pages.
I will start updating the 2011 overheads and practice problems in June.
Updates
The 2011 syllabus is now available on the SOA web site:
http://www.soa.org/files/pdf/edu-jbe-booklet.pdf
There were NO changes to the exam conditions (versus 2010). Here is the short list of the additions to the reading list:
I have added recordings for IRC 436 to the online seminar. I will add some practice problems for IRC 436 in the next week.

Even after my prior change, the video file was STILL not correct. I re-created the file – again.
Tip-O-The-Hat to Jennifer S for letting me know!
Updates
The video file was corrupted, so the screen was out of sync with the narration after page 7. I re-created the file, and it works much better now.
Big Tip-O-The-Hat to Mike C for letting me know!
