Update on coming content

As we work hard to complete the new seminar in response to the latest round of sweeping syllabus changes, we wanted to give you a brief update on the additional content you can expect between now and the July sitting.

As has been noted on the seminar page, sections K and L of the seminar are scheduled to be posted by the end of the month of May. We will be rolling out each section as soon as it is completed.

As we construct the new seminar, completing the new lessons for sections H through L has been our highest priority, as they contain new information from a new textbook not previously covered on a preliminary exam. Upon completion of these new lessons, we will next begin constructing new sample exams. Past students have repeatedly trumpeted the value of our CBT sample exams, so we want to ensure that these are completed and posted as soon as possible.

Finally, we will be creating a final Section M, titled Actuarial Applications of Derivatives. It is important to note that all of the information relevant to Section M will come from the SOA study note of the same title, which you will conveniently find posted under the Section M heading on our IFM seminar page. While we will eventually add video lessons to cover this material, as well, we have not prioritized those lessons above the sample exams, because the study note is freely available to all students and already written in a reasonably condensed format. For those of you who have already watched the existing lessons and worked the existing problems, I strongly encourage you to go ahead and read the study note as the next step in your exam preparation.

We appreciate your patience as we thoughtfully consider the best way to prepare our students for the first-ever sitting of Exam IFM. We are working hard to release all new materials in a timely fashion without sacrificing the quality of instruction that our students have come to expect.
