Hi everyone,
I posted the updated problem set and problem video for the Venter section yesterday, and I posted the updated NCCI 2 problem set today. I will also try and post the updated Gillam problem set in the next few days as well, before going back and updating the WC experience rating papers section.
Thanks,
Josh
Hi everyone,
Even though I skipped the Mahler 3 section temporarily, I posted the updated Gillam and Snader 1 section today (it was a quick update). I’ll be posting several more updated sections over the next few days.
Thanks,
Josh
Hi everyone,
I finished my 2014 updates to the Miccolis/Lee 1 and Mahler 2 sections, and have posted them on the site. I also updated the complete manual and notecard files to include these sections.
Thanks,
Josh
Hi everyone,
I just finished uploading what is a pretty significant update. I replaced the study guide and notecards for the Retro Rating papers, and added an entirely new set of videos to go with that material. As part of that update, I decided to split out the Lee 1 material from the Retro Rating papers, and I’ll be combining it with the Miccolis material that I’ll be updating soon. The Lee 1 material is really focused on severity distributions and lines up extremely well with Miccolis, while Lee 2 is focused on aggregate distributions, so this split makes more sense. I also made a minor update to the suggested reading schedule to reflect this split of Lee. Finally, I updated the 2014 complete manual and notecard files to include all the retro rating sections, in case you want to download those (instead of download separate files for each section).
Thanks,
Josh
Hi everyone,
I just added a comment in the solution to 2013 Q15 from the Lee problem set to note that the horizontal axis in the problem is labeled incorrectly, as it is often in the Lee paper itself. The axis should say either “cumulative distribution function” or perhaps “cumulative percent of risks” instead of “cumulative claim frequency”. The solution was not impacted at all.
Thanks,
Josh
Hi everyone,
I’ve added a 2014 errata & updates file under the Additional Materials section of the website so you can always refer to that file to see whenever I make updates to the material going forward, including the regular 2014 updates. The latest version of each paper’s material that I’ve updated for 2014 thus far is:
AAA – May 5, 2014 (I updated the operational criteria to add back the “Availability of Coverage” item since the April 15, 2014 version).
Anderson -May 4, 2014
Bailey & Simon – April 24, 2014
Brosius – May 9, 2014
Couret & Venter – May 7, 2014
Gillam & Snader 2 – May 11, 2014 (although I updated the problem strategy video on May 15, 2014)
Lee – May 8, 2014
Mahler 1 – May 6, 2014
NCCI 1 – May 9, 2014
NCCI 3 – May 14, 2014 (although I updated several videos on May 15, 2014)
Robertson – May 6, 2014
Skurnick – May 9, 2014 (although I updated the videos for 2009 Q32 and 2011 Q22 on May 15, 2014)
Note that even though I’ve updated the problem sets for the individual papers that comprise the Retrospective Rating material, I have yet to update the main study guide, videos, and notecards for that section. I plan to make that update within a week.
Thanks,
Josh
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to give you an update on my progress of updating the material. I’ve completed my updates to all the Section A material of the seminar. I’ve also started a new complete manual with the work I’ve done to date, which you can find under the Additional Material heading of the website. I am still on track with the updating timeline I discussed in the intro to course video.
Thanks,
Josh
